Stickhandling Course (Hockey)
A skill drill where you navigate a puck or ball through obstacles using a hockey stick. Develops soft hands, puck control, and the ability to handle in tight spaces.
How to do it
- 1Set up cones or pucks in a line or pattern
- 2Keep hands away from your body, soft grip on the stick
- 3Move the puck side to side with quick, controlled touches
- 4Keep your head up — use peripheral vision to see the puck
Common mistakes
- Gripping the stick too tightly, reducing feel
- Looking down at the puck the entire time
- Moving the puck too far from the body, losing control
