Broad Jump

An explosive horizontal jump from a standing position. Measures and develops lower-body power and horizontal force production.

How to do it

  1. 1Stand with feet shoulder-width, toes behind the line
  2. 2Swing arms back, hinge at hips, load the jump
  3. 3Explode forward and upward, driving arms ahead
  4. 4Land softly on both feet, absorbing through ankles, knees, and hips

Common mistakes

  • Not using the arm swing to generate momentum
  • Jumping too vertically instead of forward
  • Landing with stiff knees instead of absorbing impact
