Tee Work / Batting Tee (Baseball)
A fundamental hitting drill where you swing at a ball placed on a stationary tee. Allows focused repetition on swing mechanics without the variable of pitch timing.
How to do it
- 1Set the tee at waist height over the center of the plate
- 2Load with a slight weight shift to the back leg
- 3Rotate hips first, then hands fire through the zone
- 4Hit through the ball with a level swing path, driving it up the middle
Common mistakes
- Uppercutting under the ball instead of hitting through it
- Swinging with all arms and no hip rotation
- Setting the tee too far forward or back instead of at the contact point
